How to Make Decisions as an Emotional Authority in Human Design

I recently got asked:

👉🏻👉🏻 How am I supposed to make decisions as an Emotional Authority, in Human Design, when I never feel 100% about the choice??

I LOVE this question so much! And it applies to everyone, as we’re all human beings with complex feelings and emotions. As a fellow Emotional Authority, it took me a long time to understand how to actually use my emotional authority and trust myself to make decisions

Here’s the exact process I use to make decisions I can trust

01) NOTICE WHAT COMES UP IN THE HIGH

Give yourself time to feel the excitement, the dreams, the hopes, and the possibilities that come from when your emotions are high. Notice if these make you feel like you need to rush or hurry with your decision


02) NOTICE WHAT COMES UP IN THE LOW

Give yourself time to feel the fears, the doubts and the confusion that comes when your emotions are low. Notice if these come up around the decision OR around the action you need to take. Remember - everything that’s coming up right now is coming from the mind either future projecting or bringing up the past.


03) SIT IN THE MIDDLE GROUND

Once you’ve moved through the highs and lows, sit in the middle ground and feel into your body. This is the hardest part because you may not even be aware of how the middle ground feels. It’s a space that may feel uncomfortable because you’re so used to feeling big feelings. You may notice when you’re in this middle space that you try and do something to make you feel good or “high” again. Remember, there is no right or wrong, it’s all about awareness

So, when you’ve found that middle, possibly uncomfortable space, sit it in and feel into the decision (notice I didn’t say think). If a possibility comes up, let it pass. If a fear comes up, let it pass. Underneath all the dreams and possibilities, the doubts and fears is your truth. Your truth will always feel calm and grounded. It may bring up fear around taking action but that’s a normal part of growth. It shouldn’t feel rushed or forced. It should feel safe, peaceful, satisfying.


04) BE GENTLE WITH YOURSELF

Give yourself grace and compassion, you may still fall into old patterns and habits of saying Yes to things out of fear or excitement and that’s ok. With every decision you make you get to learn and grow. Don’t get stuck in indecision…that is no place to live in. Have the courage to make a choice and see what happens. You’ll learn so much about who you are as you navigate this new awareness.
